Un grupo de 25 balseros cubanos llegó a la isla Cisne Grande, en el Caribe
de Honduras, donde recibieron asistencia del destacamento naval que
permanece ahí, informó este lunes una fuente oficial en Tegucigalpa,
reporta EFE.
El jefe del Estado Mayor Conjunto de las Fuerzas Armadas, René Osorio,
dijo a los periodistas que los cubanos, entre hombres, mujeres y niños, no
identificados, llegaron a la isla el domingo y que las autoridades
migratorias determinarán el estatus que se les otorgará.
Cisne Grande es parte del archipiélago Islas del Cisne o Santanilla,
conformado también por Cisne Pequeño y el cayo Pájaro Bobo.
Los cubanos serán enviados a tierra firme, distante 250 kilómetros, para
que informen a las autoridades sobre las razones por las que han llegado
al país, agregó el militar.
En 2012 más de 500 balseros cubanos, cuyo objetivo era llegar a Estados
Unidos, arribaron a diferentes sitios de la costa de Honduras en el
Caribe.
