01/25/13 - Agencia de Información Nacional (Habana) - Cuban Elections: Details for February 3rd Voting Finalized
HAVANA, Cuba, Jan 24 (acn) - The National Electoral Commission (CEN), election
authorities and the staff supporting the carrying out of voting on February 3
devote their efforts to guarantee a successful process in this final stage of
the island's general elections.
According to Ruben Perez, vice-president of the CEN, 612 parliamentarians and
1,269 delegates to provincial assemblies will be elected on this occasion.
All those taking part in the voting on February 3, including persons that will
be in charge of the reception, revision and count of electoral reports are
receiving the necessary training.
Perez recalled that on Sunday, January 27, a trial will be carried out to verify
the efficient fulfillment of preparations and to assess difficulties and solve
them in time.
All this process, which will end over the next few days, will make it possible
to guarantee that voters can exert their right to vote in a free, secret and
direct way, pointed out Perez.
