03/04/13 - Agencia de Información Nacional (Habana) - Renowned World Experts Attend Cuban Surgery Congress
HAVANA, Cuba, March 4 (acn) renowned world experts will be attending the
12th Cuban Surgery Congress, which opens sessions Tuesday until Thursday in
the Cuban capital.
Some of the personalities at hand during the conference include the former
president of the American Hernia Society and member of the American Surgery
Congress, Arturo Gilbert, and the vice-dean of Research and Teaching at
Spain's Alcala de Henares University, Doctor Fernando Noguerales.
Professors Jean Franco Amiguicci, from Italy, and Gerald Fromont from
France are among the specialists, who will deliver key-note lectures at the
event, according to the organizing committee.
On Monday, several Havana institutions are hosting courses on different
surgical procedures. The Congress, which will focus on surgery linked to
primary medical attention, pays homage to outstanding surgeons Lazaro
Quevedo and Jorge F. Abraham.
