03/04/13 -  Agencia de Información Nacional (Habana) - Over Two Hundred Ecuadorian Doctors Graduate in Eastern Cuba

HAVANA, Cuba, March 4 (acn) A group of 272 Ecuadorian youths received their
medical doctor diplomas in eastern Holguin province, as they graduated
under the integral health  program developed by Cuba in support of other
sister nations.

The new doctors started their medical courses in 2007 in the western
province of Pinar del Rio and concluded their last school years at the
Mariana Grajales Medicine School, in Holguin, where another 769 youths from
33 countries are currently taking medical courses.

University dean Katia Maria Ochoa said that with the recent graduation
included more than 3 thousand medical doctors mostly from several Latin
American countries. 

Ecuadorian ambassador to Cuba Edgar Ponce expressed his gratefulness to the
Cuban government for the noble, humane and patriotic contribution to the
training of doctors for his country.

Present at the ceremony, was Jorge Cuevas Ramos, member of the Central
Committee of Cuba's Communist Party and first secretary of the political
organization in Holguin.
