03/13/13 - Agencia de Información Nacional (Habana) - Havana to Host Intl. Meeting on the Latest Innovations in Computing
HAVANA, Cuba, Mar 13 (acn) Over 1,000 papers on the main scientific and
technological advances will make up the program of the 15th edition of the
International Computing Convention and Fair that will be held at Havana's
Convention Center from March 18 th through the 22nd.
Under the slogan "15 editions with the future in mind," the meeting is an
excellent opportunity to promote integration, cooperation and the exchange
of experiences between specialists and organizations of Latin America,
considered on Wednesday Jorge Luis Perdomo, president of the organizing
committee.
Perdomo, also Deputy Minister for Computing and Communications, told the
press that the convention will include 14 simultaneous meetings and a fair,
the main focus of which will be the role of new technologies in favor of
education, health, the environment, electronic trade and automation, among
other fields.
Caridad Anias, president of the meeting's scientific committee, confirmed
the participation of experts from some 30 nations, who will present over 60
papers.
For the first time, the meeting will have a sub-venue, the city of Santiago
de Cuba, which will be attended by representatives of the eastern
provinces, announced organizers.
