Estocolmo, 22 mar (PL) El músico cubano Bebo Valdés, icono del jazz latino
y padre del laureado pianista Jesús "Chucho" Valdés, murió hoy aquí a los
94 años, tras varios años con Alzhaimer.
Fuentes allegadas a la familia confirmaron a Prensa Latina que "Chucho"
estaba en Málaga junto a su padre, al que hace dos semanas trajeron a esta
capital a raíz del empeoramiento de su salud.
El veterano músico residía hace años en la localidad malagueña de
Benalmádena, España, donde gozaba del relanzamiento de su carrera gracias a
la película "Calle 54" (2000) de Fernando Trueba.
Entre sus últimos proyectos destacó la banda sonora del filme de animación
"Chico y Rita", dirigido por Trueba y el diseñador Javier Mariscal,
nominado a los premios Oscar el pasado año
En su discografía destacan el album "Lágrimas negras" (2003), con el
cantaor Diego el Cigala, ganador de siete premios Grammy, y en 2009 grabó
"Juntos para siempre" con su hijo "Chucho".
