In a turnaround from last year, sales of Havana Club, the
flagship export brand among Cuban rums, rose 3 percent in the 2012-13
financial year that ended June 30, Pernod Ricard SA said in its annual
Revenues from Havana Club sales rose 3 percent in 2012-13, according to the
report, while the sales volume rose 2 percent to 3.9 million 9-liter cases.
Havana Club showed an "improved trend compared to the previous year," the
report said, highlighting "good performances in Germany and France, [and]
continuing difficulties in Spain and Italy." Havana Club sales in France
rose 13 percent.
The report did not provide any revenue figures for Havana Club sales.
The rise is a turnaround from last year. Due mainly to declines in Cuba,
Spain and Italy, Havana Club sales stagnated during the 2011-12 financial
