08/30/13 - Radio Havana Cuba - Nyad to try once again to swim from Cuba to Florida this Saturday
Havana, Aug 30.- Long-distance swimmer Diana Nyad will be heading back to
Cuba to once again attempt a record-breaking swim from Havana to Key West,
This will be the 63-year-old's fifth attempt to swim the 103-mile stretch.
The swim is fraught with dangers, including sharks, jellyfish and strong
currents from the Gulf Stream.
Her most recent try ended in failure last August due to bad weather and
According to her blog, Nyad will wear a protective silicone mask this time
around to protect her from jellyfish.
