GUANTÁNAMO.- Dos modernas carpinterías equipadas con tecnología española se
encuentran en fase de puesta en marcha gracias al apoyo del Ministerio de la
Agricultura en esta provincia.
Las instalaciones, ubicadas en los municipios de Guantánamo e Imías, serán
destinadas básicamente a la producción de módulos para cajas de acopio, de
elementos para cajas de colmena y de muebles, renglones de alta demanda en
el sector agropecuario.
La industria imiense se edificó aledaña al aserradero de San Ignacio,
mientras la del municipio de Guantánamo se montó aprovechando una nave sin
uso en el kilómetro cinco de la carretera hacia Jamaica.
