Camagüey, Oct 12. Experiences on the integration of management systems
is the title of the research paper that specialists working for the
daughter company in Camagüey of the Cuban national oil company CUPET will
submit at the 2013 International Symposium on Quality to be held in
Havana, starting on October 16th.
The paper was chosen due to the in-depth analysis its authors do on the
work this company has been carrying out in the implementation of an
integrated business management system, which takes into account its four
certified methods: quality, safety, health, human resources and
While speaking to the press, CUPET director Niurka González told that the
opportunity to take part in the Symposium is an acknowledgement for the
workers of this business entity who jealously ensure the observance of
this management system and the provision of an efficient service to their
In the course of this Symposium, the National Quality Award will also be
granted. The Camaguey-based company is among the six candidates which are
opting for the accolade.
In another development, a dozen of companies in Camagüey province have
implemented the quality management system and are producing high-quality
products widely commercialized across the island nation.
Among these business entities we can find the Agricultural Machinery
Workshop, known as GELMA, which provides maintenance services in the
farming sector, and CIMEX subsidiary in Camagüey.
The latter sells products for family or personal use in specialized shops,
gas stations and coffee shops scattered all over the province.
Other leading companies are the Revolucion de Octubre Industrial Chemical
Complex which produces and markets fertilizers, pesticides and raw
materials to be used in the Drug Industry; and the 26 de Julio cement
